EXECUTIVE ORDER

In accordance with the authority conferred upon me by G.L. 1956 § 8-15-2 , I hereby issue the following Executive Order.

1. There have been made available to the unified judicial system a series of assistive listening devices. One device will be assigned to each courthouse.

2. The assistive listening device assigned to the Licht Judicial Complex will be under the custody of the Presiding Justice of the Superior Court or his designee.

3. The assistive listening device assigned to the Garrahy Judicial Complex will be placed in the custody of the Chief Judge of the Family Court or his designee.

Any judge who may require the use of such assistive listening device may make arrangements with the Chief Judge of the Family Court or his designee for its utilization. The judge who uses the device will be responsible for having it set up in a designated courtroom and thereafter for returning it to the custody of the designee of the Family Court.

4. The assistive listening devices to be assigned to the Kent County Courthouse, the Washington County Courthouse, and the Newport County Courthouse, will be placed in the custody of the Presiding Justice of the Superior Court or his designee in each of the aforesaid courthouses. Any judge who requires the use of the assistive listening device assigned to the foregoing courthouses may make arrangements therefor with the Presiding Justice's designee in the appropriate courthouse. That judge will be responsible for setting up the device and thereafter returning it to the custody of the designee of the Presiding Justice.

5. The assistive listening device assigned to the Administrative Adjudication Court will be placed in the custody of the Chief Judge of that court or his designee.
